Acculynk provides answers to your most frequently asked questions on PaySecure, from accepting this payment type to security to integration and more.
Why should I integrate PaySecure into my checkout?
Consumers prefer PIN debit at the retail point of sale because it is secure, easy to use and convenient. Acculynk brings this convenience and security to the Internet with a software-only service that integrates seamlessly into your checkout. Convert signature debit transactions to lower-cost PIN debit transactions, and enjoy a new revenue stream from consumers who cannot use their debit card without a PIN.
How does PaySecure work?
Our software-only service integrates directly into the merchant checkout, eliminating the need for consumer enrollment or redirection to a third party site for payment. When a consumer chooses to pay with their debit card, our service performs a BIN check on the card number to determine if it can be used with a PIN. If it can, our PIN-pad is invoked and appears at the merchant checkout. The consumer is presented the option to enter their PIN on the Acculynk PIN-pad by pressing “Continue” (consumers not wishing to enter their PIN can hit “Cancel” and the transaction will be processed as signature debit). Once the consumer enters their PIN on the PIN-pad using their mouse, they click “Continue” and the transaction is processed. The consumer is returned to the merchant's payment confirmation page.
Is PaySecure secure?
Acculynk’s state of the art encryption technologies ensure the consumer’s PIN is never in the clear at any point during processing, and never passes through the merchant site. Our service uses a variety of methods to secure the consumer’s machine during PIN entry, including scrambling PIN-pad, geo-location, AVS and requiring PIN entry by mouse to prevent keylogging of the PIN.
What is the value proposition to consumers?
Consumers are concerned about the safety of their card information entered online, and are seeking alternative payment solutions that provide greater security. At the same time, debit cards have surpassed credit cards as the preferred online payment method in terms of transaction volume, and this trend is expected to continue. PaySecure adds a new layer of security to debit transactions while enabling consumers to use a payment method they prefer. Additionally, PaySecure requires no redirection or enrollment, and is easy for consumers to use and adopt.
What are the fees associated with processing PaySecure transactions?
Transaction fees for PaySecure are significantly lower than fees for accepting signature debit cards and credit cards. Final pricing is contingent on your payment processor.
How are payments processed?
Our service leverages existing payment channels, requiring no change in infrastructure. The PAN and associated card information is sent by the merchant API to Acculynk. The PIN is captured by Acculynk and never passes through the merchant site. The PAN and PIN are sent by Acculynk to the EFT networks for processing via two secure and separate channels. Acculynk returns a transaction authorization to the merchant.
How are charge-backs handled?
Charge-backs are created when a cardholder claims that they did not make a charge on their account. This claim is usually made to their card issuer or the merchant. In many cases, the cardholder has either forgotten that they made the charge or they did not understand the merchant’s pricing – for example, an additional delivery charge. It is more difficult for a cardholder to dispute a PIN debit transaction as a PIN is utilized to authenticate the transaction.
If the chargeback is legitimate, the issuer is responsible for the risk in the majority of cases. The merchant is only responsible if the issuer can prove that the merchant did not follow the policies and controls that they are required to.
How do I begin accepting PaySecure for payments?
Integration of PaySecure is done remotely. Typical time for integration is 3 weeks, from the time you actively engage in integration to testing. |
